YRC Expertise, experience:

Youth Restoration Corps as a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization was established in 1997. Primarily working with USFS (Chugach National Forest) until 2008, other project partners include Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Alaska department of Natural Resources, Alaska department of Environmental Conservation, Bureau of Land Management, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Willamette National Forest and NOAA. In the past fifteen years Youth Restoration Corps has engaged over 4000 youth in stewardship activities in the field and in the classroom. Investing over 67,000 field hours without injury or incident, 9.5 % of the youth involved have followed the experiences in YRC into careers in the environmental sciences or educational fields. Youth Restoration Corps strength is derived from its corporate support, leveraging over 3.9 million in philanthropic funds for stewardship activities on the ground since 1997. Our teams of professionals understands the working relationships of government, public and private sectors, they also know how to engage the power of youth and the energy this youthful generation controls. Working with youth requires mentors, and protocols that insure a safe structured learning environment. By engaging local youth you engage community support local acceptance and meaningful relationships that will assure a higher percentage of success to your project.

Team Experience:  

YRC Executive Director: Mrs. Elvira Wolf

Nine years of service as executive director of Youth Restoration Corps,  her sight of its two hundred thousand dollar budget which annually invests over 5000 on the ground hours of habitat restoration or trail improvements and other conservation projects. Through the hiring and employment of youth between the ages of 15 to 19, duties are to oversee risk management, crew planning, project planning, philanthropic fund raising and project implementation. With ten years of working experience in youth counseling in a leadership role as supervisor, mentor and field instructor on invasive species of plant(s) and fish. Mrs. Wolf has earning the distinctive honor of being recognized as Alaska Above and Beyond honoree awarded the Congressional medal of honor foundation.

Education:

YRC Project coordinator

Mr. Kelly Wolf founded Youth Restoration Corps 1997, Sixteen years experience of aquatic and riparian habitat restoration, permitting process, and project design.  Fifteen years working experience in youth counseling in a leadership role as mentor and in field instructor of habitat restoration methodology. Seventeen years as a construction contractor in Alaska, Nevada and California with over twenty years in the construction industry. Mr. Wolf has successfully written and managed over 3.9 million dollars in federal, state and non –government philanthropic grants to their successful completion which met or exceeded project objectives.  Instrumental in creating over 100 partnerships across the nation, Mr. Wolf has also has narrated and edited nine made for television films, focused on Youth Restoration Corps to promote stewardship values. A retired Alaska State Representative, Mr. Wolf understands government layers, and the politic process.
